Target Community and Partners

Target Community

Communities that are reliant on burning biomass for cooking who do not have access to electric stovetops. These poorer communities are exposed to toxic fumes as a result of cooking with biomass, and develop diseases as a result.

Our
Partners

Two professors at Ashesi University, a private university located in West Ghana, whose mission is to educate ethical, entrepreneurial leaders in Africa.

We will also communicate closely with ISEC/Ghana groups as well as the people on the ground in Ghana. We will be using their domain expertise to understand the best model (considering feasibility and positive impact on the community) in order to disseminate the electric stoves.

Our group will be working closely with Group 2, “Growing the Solar Cooking Business in Ghana”, in order to develop the best model for dispersing the solar stoves.
